CASE STUDY / VARSAMVERK
CREATIVE FREEDOM.
NEW WORLDS.
A new physical product development company needed to build its brand from the ground up. We began with an extensive branding workshop — before the business even had a name — and connected positioning, naming, identity and web. With creative freedom to build an expression that took their curiosity seriously.
Varsamverk · Brand strategy, naming, identity and web

A small company.
A world of possibilities.
Varsamverk works with physical product development, materials and prototypes, including 3D printing. The company supports Swedish startups and collaborates with in-house product developers who need to turn an idea into something tangible. The expertise was there. A coherent brand was missing.
A presence people can recognise.
The primary brief was not a customer acquisition engine. The website would give the new business a place to introduce itself: a distinctive expression to share in conversations, relationships and collaborations. It needed to feel as forward-looking as the way they work.
The brand came first.
The name followed.
At the start, the client did not yet know what to call the company. We therefore began with an extensive workshop on brand building, brand positioning and strategic brand thinking, rather than a logo or website. Together we explored what the business should stand for, who it should serve and the position it should take in the market.
The workshop became the foundation for the whole brand. It gave us a shared direction against which to evaluate names, the symbol, visual identity and web experience. Varsamverk became more than a new name and an attractive website: its different parts grew from the same strategic thinking.
Collaboration, built into the name.
We explored several names and discussed how working together could become part of the identity itself. Varsamverk emerged through wordplay around the Swedish idea of samverkan — collaboration — and the search for a name rooted in its home market. After several rounds, it became the client’s clear favourite.
Close together.
Stronger as a whole.
The symbol brings closely positioned forms into a single unit. It reflects how Varsamverk works: alongside other companies and their product developers. The logo makes collaboration visible without asking it to explain the entire business every time.
Creative freedom.
For real.
The client gave us an unusually open creative brief. We had room to experiment, challenge assumptions and push the visual direction further. That trust shaped the outcome. Rather than narrowing the vision, we could build a world where the unexpected became a natural part of the brand.

A sense of the future.
With a purpose.
Cyberpunk references, futuristic forms and unexpected combinations of materials became our visual direction. The imagery invites visitors to imagine beyond what already exists. It reflects an ambition to explore quickly and efficiently; it is not a catalogue of manufactured products.

A website that
dares to move.
Animation, scrolling sequences and changing perspectives make the website an experience to explore. Motion contributes to the story of a business that experiments and sees new possibilities. We built a deliberate contrast between a simple communication task and an expressive visual world.

Launched.
With its own direction.
The delivery is a complete brand-building project: from a branding workshop and positioning to naming, visual identity and a launched first website. Varsamverk now has a distinctive digital presence to share with its existing contacts. The first stage gives the company a recognisable expression and a platform to grow from.
The next stage is still ahead.
A customer login for project plans and other project material is a planned follow-on phase. It is not part of the delivered website described here. The first stage has established a visual foundation to build on.
