Brand & Strategy

Your logo cannot make the decisions you are avoiding

Agree what the business needs to communicate before asking a new logo to solve an unresolved strategy.

Thinking about your own business? Talk it through with CoreCreative ↗

A new logo can be a useful beginning. It cannot decide which customers matter most, which services deserve attention or what makes your offer worth choosing.

When those questions remain open, the design review becomes a substitute for the strategy discussion. One stakeholder wants something premium. Another wants approachable. A third wants disruptive. Nobody has agreed what those words mean for the customer.

Before reviewing concepts, finish three sentences: “We want to be chosen by…” “They should value us because…” “We need to avoid looking or sounding…”

The answers will not produce a logo automatically. They will give the creative work a brief and give the feedback a basis. You can ask whether a direction supports the intended position instead of collecting preferences without a decision rule.

A visual identity should also survive ordinary use. Test it on a small mobile screen, a proposal cover, an invoice and a social image. The glamorous presentation is only one environment.

If the team disagrees about the business, say so. That is valuable information to uncover before spending weeks changing the shape of a letter.

At CoreCreative, brand strategy and visual identity belong in the same conversation. Tell us what you need your brand to communicate, and we can help establish the direction before the design debate takes over.
